    Story Time is geared toward the preschool set, ages 3 and up. Stories, "tell and draws", puppets, art projects and lots of audience participation keep things lively and interesting. Each child should be accompanied by an adult. Story Time is held Saturdays 10 am, September to May. Sessions repeat throughout the week. Each Story Time lasts approximately 30 minutes.

  1. City of Manitowoc Arbor Day Celebration

    The City of Manitowoc’s Arbor Day Celebration, which is open to the public, will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 28th, 2017, in the County Board Room at the UW Manitowoc at 705 Viebahn Street. Amber Daugs from Grow It Forward, Inc. will lead a tree cheer and give an explanation of Arbor Day. A short outdoor nature hike and tree identification activity will be led by a representative from the Woodland Dunes. If the weather is inclement, a reading of an excerpt of The Lorax will take place. The activity will be followed by a ceremonial tree planting near the lakefront. Grade school students who attend will receive a free tree seedling. The celebration is sponsored by the American Transmission Corporation and the Izaak Walton League. At the celebration, the 2016 Tree City USA award will be presented to the City of Manitowoc. This is the thirty-fourth year in a row that the City of Manitowoc has been named a Tree City USA community.

    The City of Manitowoc will be holding its annual auction on Saturday, April 29, 2017. The city will be auctioning off numerous bicycles and other property. Registration will begin at 8:00 AM. To register you must present a state issued identification card or drivers license. The auctioneer will begin auctioning off items at 9:00 AM. All items must be paid for and removed the same day of the auction.
