  2. Book and a Movie/“Eat Pray Love”

    January 21, 2019, 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM @ Lakeshore Cinema

Deciding to change one’s life when one realizes that their life—though cozy and successful to those on the outside looking in—is making them immensely unhappy is an incredibly difficult decision to make. However, this is precisely the topic addressed in “Eat Pray Love”—the memoir by Elizabeth Gilbert and the subsequent film of the same name starring Julia Roberts—that explores the protagonist’s yearlong journey of discovery following a painful divorce. One huge question remains—which version does a better job of putting this tale before the public: the book or the movie? You’ll have the opportunity to discuss this oft-debated point if you attend Manitowoc Public Library’s “Book and a Movie” at Lakeshore Cinema—1118 Washington Street—on Monday, January 21st at 7 PM. Watch the movie and then participate in the discussion of the book versus the movie that follows. Books can be checked out prior to the screening at Manitowoc Public Library. Admission is FREE!!!
