“Close to Home”—a companion series to the popular “Great Decisions” foreign policy presentations—is a domestic issues series that utilizes a panel discussion format to explore a range of often-times difficult-to-discuss realities that have the potential to impact the daily lives of people within our community. From guns in schools to freedom of speech, we use this format to discuss matters that otherwise might go unaddressed. “Close to Home” will be convening in MPL’s Balkansky Community Room at 6:00 PM on the first four Monday evenings in October. The full schedule of topics is as follows:
October 1 Guns in Schools
October 8 Surviving Suicide
October 15 Elections: Rights, Issues, & Ethics
October 22 Freedom of Speech
Each panel will bring together a unique array of experts for each topic, changing week-to-week in order to specifically address the topic at hand for an open, lively community discussion. We hope you will join us for these vital conversations. Admission is free!
