Green Bay Packers enthusiast and author, Jim Rice, will make his way to the Balkansky Community Room on Thursday, October 18 at 6:30 PM to enrich our gridiron knowledge with his presentation, "The Packers' Century: 100 Years of Packer History." Jim retired in 2010. The Packers’ Super Bowl XLV victory the following year rekindled his interest for Packers history. After unearthing his old newspapers, football cards, and magazines, the research began in earnest. Numerous visits to Green Bay followed, as did meeting with hundreds of Packers fans. Jim isn’t a sports writer or an NFL broadcasting bigwig. He’s something better—he’s a converted Packer fan, a process that dates back to the 1961 NFL Championship game versus the New York Giants. Throughout his journey, Jim has collected great stories from Packers fans and about the team they love, from its founding to the present day. “The Packers’ Century” is a fast-paced look-back at all the great games, players and moments in Packers history.
