"Manitowalk" promotes pedestrian & biking activities

The City of Manitowoc is a beautiful place to take a walk or a bike ride. We have miles of pedestrian ways that are for your use. Biking and walking are great ways to maintain a healthy lifestyle. The City offers beautiful views to enjoy while optimizing your health. On your next walk take a tour of historic downtown. Click here to view the downtown historic district walking tour.

The safety and accessability of the pedestrian ways in the City of Manitowoc are very important to us. The beauty of our lake front and our local rivers and streams make it a beautiful place to take a stroll. Pedestrian safety is our main goal when considering the layout of streets and walkways.

We would like to hear from you. If you have any questions or concerns about the condition, repair, or safety of our pedestrian ways, please let us know. All comments are welcomed and encouraged. The sidewalks and pathways are for you. Help us by notifying us of any problems you may encounter while on your walks. You can contact the Engineering Department by phone at: (920) 686-6910. You may also contact us by e-mail. Enjoy the safety and beauty of our pedestrian ways in the City of Manitowoc.

If you are interested in additional walking information or advocating for more walking opportunities you can also contact Ann Schneider-Allen, who is the contact for person for the "ManitoWALKS" Pedestrian Advocacy & Safety Committee.
