Preschool Palette


The same project is done in each of the two classes monthly. Class begins with story time and is followed by an art activity.

Held monthly on the 3rd Thursday at 9am &
following Friday at 11am         
Ages 3 - 5 years (preschool)
Fee: $1 per child

August 19 & 20: Out of this World Art

Preschool Palette will be changing beginning in Fall  2021, see below for full details.


In this series, young artists appreciation for creative play will be enlivened as students get hands-on with different mediums and artistic processes. Each lesson will begin with story time and is followed by an art activity. Children must be accompanied by an adult for this workshop.

3rd Thursday Monthly
Ages 3-5 years

Class Fee: $5 RWAM Members/$10 Nonmembers

Color Wheel

September 21: Color Wheel
Students will learn how to mix colors! They will discover recipes for their favorite colors and create an imaginative, COLORFUL painting.

Leaf Rubbing

October 19: Leaf Rubbing
Students will explore the rubbing technique using crayons and leaves.

Abstract Expressionism

November 16: Abstract Expressionism
Students will create their own abstract artwork while exploring watercolor and color mixing.

December 21: Painted Christmas Tree
Students will paint a Christmas Tree using a fork.


Wacky Weekend Workshop (or WWW) is a free monthly, family-friendly drop-in workshop for all ages. Please just bring your imaginations and arrive by 2:30pm to allow time to complete the activity. Supplies are included and donations are gratefully accepted. All Children must be accompanied by an adult.

August 14: Fish Collage

September 11: Sputnikfest Rocket Building
Class will be held outside in the Kids Creation Station tent.

October 9: Brick Wall Surrealism
Families are invited to paint a brick wall and add images "behind" the wall, as they learn about surrealism.Monotype

November 13: Monotype Printmaking
Families are invited to create original monotype prints by exploring different surfaces and inking techniques.


December 11: Snowflake Making
Families are invited to create decorative, original snowflakes out of various materials.
