Lift Bridges

The City of Manitowoc operates two lift bridges across the Manitowoc River. These are a portion of State Highway 10 as well as the designated 8th and 10th Streets of the City of Manitowoc.

The Maintenance and operation of the Bridges are 100% funded by the State of Wisconsin. The explanation of the program can be found on the Wisconsin Department of Transportation web site.

While 100% funding has been the rule, reimbursement is restricted to funds available and is sometimes reduced due to lack of funds.
