    Manitowoc Public Library will be hosting a Nurdle Patrol and beach cleanup day on Saturday, October 15, starting at 9 AM at Red Arrow Park Beach. Registration is required. Sign up at Please join us as we work together to clean up our beaches and give back to our community! NURDLE ALERT: During our last clean-up at Lincoln High School Beach, our Patrol found over 100 of these plastic pellets, so Nurdles have definitely found their way to our shores! Children under the age of 8 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.

  2. Running: Getting on the Ballot | A Virtual Panel Discussion

    Here's an interesting question: precisely how does one go about getting their name on a ballot? And where can someone find out what positions are open to run for in any given election. To answer these questions, the League of Women Voters of Manitowoc County and Manitowoc Public Library are presenting "Running: Getting on the Ballot," a virtual panel discussion taking place at 6 PM on Thursday, October 20. Participants include Jessica Backus (Manitowoc County Clerk), Jamie Jackson (City Clerk/Two Rivers), and Mackenzie Reed-Kadow (City Clerk/Manitowoc), as well as Darian Kaderabek (Manitowoc Alderperson, District 5). Topics will include requirements, positions available, and procedures to follow As a recently-elected candidate, Darian will share her experiences, why she wanted to run, and what drove her to continue. Join us for this informative, community-minded conversation, livestreaming on both MPL’s Facebook page ( and YouTube channel.
