The next community workshop will be held on Thursday, January 18th, from 5:30 to 7:30 PM at the Wisconsin Maritime Museum in the Riverview Room.
The City of Manitowoc needs your continued input to create a new Downtown Master Plan – a roadmap for the future development and improvement of the downtown. To ensure that the plan reflects the desires and needs of the community, Mayor Nickels and the Common Council want as many people to participate as possible.
Thank you to those who attended the Kick-Off Event in October. The next community workshop will be held on Thursday, January 18th, from 5:30 to 7:30 PM at the Wisconsin Maritime Museum in the Riverview Room. The workshop will include a presentation from the project consultants describing:
• The planning process to date
• Highlights of the Downtown economy and development market conditions
• Background on potential future development sites
Participants will then have the opportunity to review and provide their feedback on concept plans for several potential development sites in the downtown. The top priority concepts will become the backbone of the master plan and marketing pieces to help attract investment and new construction.
Additionally, a project website has been established as a place to get the most current information about the process and to participate in web-based activities over the coming months. Check out the overview video that explains why the City is creating the new plan, just go to the Downtown Master Plan project website. We hope to see you downtown!
