[ARCHIVED] Kickoff of the City of Manitowoc Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan Process & Survey

Park and Recreation Logo

The City of Manitowoc is kicking off the process of updating the 2017 Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan. The plan includes all City-owned and maintained parks, natural areas, trails, and recreational programming. The planning process will take place over the next six months with the goal of adopting the plan in the spring of 2023.

This plan is the guiding document for the City of Manitowoc over the next five years and makes the City eligible for state and federal grant funding to assist in implementing the plan. The process will focus on gathering public input, analyzing existing conditions, determining priorities and recommendations, and developing implementation action items to be pursued.

As part of the kickoff to this project, we invite any resident or visitor to participate in a City-wide Parks Survey. The survey will help evaluate existing preferences and participation rates, in addition to guiding future priorities, needs, and projects. It is critically important to gather as much feedback as possible in order to develop a plan that best fits the community’s needs and preferences. The survey will be open from Monday, September 26th through Monday, October 17th.
