[ARCHIVED] Winter Parking Ban Declared

Winter Parking Ban (002)

Mayor Justin M. Nickels has declared a Winter Parking Ban for overnight tonight (12-21-22) into Thursday morning (12-22-22).  This is in anticipation of the snow we are expecting during the later evening hours and into tomorrow morning.

The Winter Parking Ban will be in effect overnight Wednesday (technically Thursday morning 12-22-22) from 1:00 a.m. – 6:00 a.m. There shall be no parking on the Winter Parking Ban streets (salt routes which include bus and truck routes, arterial streets, State Highways, and County Trunks within the City’s jurisdiction). Please seek alternative parking on non-restricted streets.   Tickets will be placed during the Winter Parking Ban.  Winter Parking Ban fine is $50.00.

Please stay at least 75 feet behind the plow truck when they have their blades down and are plowing or when trucks are salting.   If you can’t see the driver in the mirror, the driver cannot see you.  Remember plows back up frequently.  Thank you for helping our crews plow the streets safely.

Salt Route Maps are available on the City website, www.manitowoc.org, by clicking on departments, Public Infrastructure, Streets, Snow & Ice Control, and Snow/Salt Maps.

Notification of the Winter Parking Ban will be on the City website, www.manitowoc.org, as well as the City Facebook page, WOMT, WCUB, WLKN, WTAQ, WBAY, FOX 11, NBC26, Xfinity Channel 4, text and/or email alert or call 920-686-6550.
