[ARCHIVED] SNOW EMERGENCY DECLARED

snow emergency

Mayor Justin M. Nickels has declared a snow emergency overnight tonight (Sunday 3-12-23) into tomorrow (Monday 3-13-23).

The Snow Emergency will be in effect overnight tonight (technically Monday morning) from 1:00 a.m. - 6:00 a.m.  No parking is allowed on any city street during those hours.   A $75 citation will be issued to any vehicle parked on any city street between those hours.

Remember: even if your street has already been plowed or appears plowed, the parking ban is still in effect on every city street. Do not assume that if your road has been plowed that you can park on the street. There is no parking between 1:00 a.m. - 6:00 a.m.

Please stay at least 75 feet behind the plow truck when they have their blades down and are plowing or when trucks are salting.   If you can’t see the driver in the mirror, the driver cannot see you.  Remember plows back up frequently.  Thank you for helping our crews plow the streets safely.

Notification of the Winter Parking Ban will be on the City website, www.manitowoc.org, as well as the City Facebook page, WOMT, WCUB, WLKN, WTAQ, WBAY, FOX 11, NBC26, Xfinity Channel 4, text and/or email alert or call 920-686-6550.
