Portions of Silver Creek Park will be undergoing ecological restoration starting March 20th and continuing periodically through April 7th (weather permitting). Week one will be mainly hand cutting of invasive woody plants with mechanical removal of dense invasive species taking place in the upcoming weeks. The park will remain open for recreational use throughout the project. All park users must be aware of and avoid all active restoration areas. Work will be concentrated in the areas around disc golf holes 21-25 and 33-35. Disc golfers should do their best to plan ahead to avoid these holes if work is in progress.
This restoration effort is the beginning of a multi-year grant funded project focusing on removing invasive plant species, establishing and maintaining appropriate native plant communities, restoring stream function and improving public access to the unique natural features of Silver Creek Park.
