The City of Manitowoc has been partnering with Lakeshore Natural Resource Partnership, Friends of Manitowoc River Watershed, Glacierland Resource Conservation & Development, and Stantec Consulting Services, Inc. to perform ecological restoration within portions of lower Henry Schuette Park.
The week of October 9th, Stantec Consulting Services, Inc. will be applying a herbicide application to invasive species throughout portions of the park. Areas that are treated will be identified with signs and park goers should avoid these areas until the signs are removed. Treatments should not affect standard park activities.
This effort is part of a multi-year grant-funded project focusing on removing invasive plant species, establishing and maintaining appropriate native plant communities, and improving public access to the unique natural features of lower Henry Schuette Park.
