[ARCHIVED] Burning Ban-City of Manitowoc

Because of the extremely dry conditions the fire chief has issued a burning restriction for the City of Manitowoc effective at noon today.

This means no burning can be done outside without a permit. No camp fires or portable fire pits will be allowed until this restriction is lifted. Cigarette and cigar smokers may smoke outside if they are on a non-combustible area not near a grassy area or inside their car. They are also encouraged not too disposed of cigarette and Cigar butts outside but to place them in an approved ash tray.

Grills for cooking will be allowed as long as the grill is on a non-combustible surface and fire/charcoal is extinguished after cooking.

This restriction may also be viewed on the city web page: www.manitowoc.org

Please pass this information on to your neighbors.
