Manitowoc artist Kelly Rene turns the familiar themes of traditional fairy tales into evocative sculptures and illustrations in her first solo exhibition at the Rahr-West Art Museum. Animals, humans and fantastic beasts embody the love, dread, companionship and ambiguity present in both classic folklore and our modern, complex world. Winner of the 2012 ARTsplash juried contest, Kelly brings her superbly crafted artwork to the Rahr-West Art Museum’s Lounge Gallery from May 19 to June 16.
