A free, one-day pickup of Christmas trees will take place on Saturday, January 11th in the City of Manitowoc. The pickup is sponsored by Pozorski Hauling & Recycling, LLC, who donates the service to the city each year. Residents should place their Christmas trees on the nearest street corner. Trees must be free of all decoration (ornaments, lights, tinsel, etc.) and plastic bags. Wreaths are acceptable as long as all the decorations & wire backings are removed. Crews will start collecting at 6 AM and will go through each neighborhood only once.
Residents who miss the pickup or who would like to dispose of their tree earlier may take their tree to the Manitowoc County Recycling Center compost site at 3000 Basswood Road weekdays from 7 AM to 4 PM or Saturdays from 8 AM to noon.
For more information about the pickup on January 11th, contact Pozorski Hauling at 682-3544. Those who wish to keep their trees up longer may contact Pozorski for a later pickup date and will be billed. For information regarding the Manitowoc County Recycling Center, call 683-4333.
