In celebration of World Storytelling Day, Rahr-West Art Museum is hosting a free Storytelling session on Saturday, March 29 from 1 – 2 pm.
To participate, simply show up at the event; no advance registration is required. Participants can share a personal or favorite family-friendly story, read one from a variety of books that will be available, or take the storytelling challenge and create an impromptu story based on words or props given to them. At the Rahr-West, the props may include artwork on display and participants can tell the story of what is happening in each piece. To allow as many participants as possible, storytellers are requested to speak no longer than four minutes. The 2014 theme for world storytelling day is Monsters and Dragons and participants are welcome to use this theme for their stories if they choose. All events are free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.
The event is being coordinated by Juliet Kosarzycki, Vice President of Public Relations for the Manitalkers Toastmasters Club and founder of Yellow Zone International, LLC. Event partners
