4. What does the Mayor do?: The Mayor serves as both the Chief Elected Officer and Chief Executive Officer for the City of Manitowoc. The Mayor is elected at large by the entire city every four years. The position of Mayor is full-time. The Mayor also chairs Common Council meetings and is chair of the Plan Commission.
