How do I reinstate my driver's license after having it suspended due to not paying a fine?
If your license is suspended for non-payment of a fine, you must know the citation number and the court involved. The Manitowoc Motor Vehicle office does not have this specific information. To get necessary citation information you will need to call the Madison Motor Vehicle Department. Their phone number is (608) 266-2261.
If you have the citation number and the court involved, please call the court involved. If it is the Manitowoc Municipal Court, please call during regular business hours to speak directly with the court clerk for the actual amount due. Once the fine or fines are paid in full, you will need paperwork from the court involved to take to your local Motor Vehicle Department to continue the process of reinstatement.

The Court is going to intercept or has already intercepted my tax refund to pay a citation. I want to contest this. What do I do?
State law allows the Court to intercept your Wisconsin Department of Revenue tax refund to pay unpaid forfeitures. If you disagree with the interception, you need to write a letter to the Municipal Judge specifically explaining why you do not believe your debt should be intercepted. This letter should be sent within 10 days of the notice certifying your debt or within five working days of the date your refund was intercepted. The letter should be sent or delivered to Municipal Court, 900 Quay St., Manitowoc, WI 54220
