Curated by Manitowoc Public Library & Lakeshore Seed Collective—& housed in a lovely card catalogue generously donated by Manitowoc County Historical Society—the Seed Library at Manitowoc Public Library is intended to cultivate an interest in gardening for both the novice & the experienced grower. Situated on MPL’s First Floor near the Service Desk, the Seed Library is a collection of open-pollinated & heirloom seeds that you can “check out”—up to 4 seed packets per household per visit—to plant & grow at home at no cost to you. That’s right—there’s no catch: the seeds are FREE of charge. Seeing as our seed collection depends primarily on donations, you'll see different seeds available at different times, so check back frequently to see what's available. The MPL Seed Library will be available beginning on Saturday, March 11, (in conjunction with the 3rd Annual Lakeshore Seed Swap). To see all the details for this amazing new possibility, head to www.manitowoclibrary.org/seedlibrary.
