Manitowoc Public Library
Curated by Manitowoc Public Library & Lakeshore Seed Collective—& housed in a lovely card catalogue generously donated by Manitowoc County Historical Society—the Seed Library at Manitowoc Public Library is intended to cultivate an interest in gardening for both the novice & the experienced grower. Situated on MPL’s First Floor near the Service Desk, the Seed Library is a collection of open-pollinated & heirloom seeds that you can “check out”—up to 4 seed packets per household per visit—to plant & grow at home at no cost to you. That’s right—there’s no catch: the seeds are FREE of charge. Seeing as our seed collection depends primarily on donations, you'll see different seeds available at different times, so check back frequently to see what's available. The MPL Seed Library will be available beginning on Saturday, March 11, (in conjunction with the 3rd Annual Lakeshore Seed Swap). To see all the details for this amazing new possibility, head to www.manitowoclibrary.org/seedlibrary.
This Virtual Program Takes Place Exclusively Online
Join Tim & Emily for a behind-the-scenes, freewheeling look at Manitowoc Public Library services and events the third Thursday of every month (except in April—we’ll be broadcasting on the second Thursday in April). Their tagline—Always on Time, Never On Topic—sums the situation up rather nicely. Each episode will feature Guest Appearances from MPL Staff. Will there be trivia? Without a doubt! Will there be foolishness? We can pretty much guarantee there will be some of that, too! Please join us LIVE for a fun and entertaining discussion! MPL Insider will air on both MPL’s Facebook page (www.facebook.com/manitowoclibrary) and their YouTube channel.
March’s Guest: Matt Mottl, MPL Public Services Assistant
A Brain. A Beauty. A Jock. A Rebel. A Recluse. It hardly seems as if this dissimilar bunch would have very much in common. But, you’d be surprised what you can discover during a Saturday detention. Sound familiar? It should because it’s the most basic description of a 1980s classic, chosen by the one-and-only Matt Mottle to serve as the next installment of “Movie Nights at the Library”! “The Breakfast Club,” Rated R, will screen at Manitowoc Public Library on Thursday, March 16, at 5 PM. Best of all: Admission is FREE, treats and beverages included! See you in the Balkansky Community Room!
